Long Island is a name published by the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (now part of NOAA)) in the 1947 Alaska Coast Pilot (pt. 2, p. 348); called "Clifford Island" by the U.S. Bureau of Fisheries (USBF) in 1890. See Clifford Island (USGS).
